Yeast Causes Cancer: Research Confirms This Ancient Healing Spice Can Kill Both

With cancer becoming so prevalent these days, it makes everyone really wonder what causes this devastating disease. New research suggests that the yeast in our bodies may actually cause cancer and allow for the mutated cells to grow in our bodies. In fact, a study published in Critical Reviews in Microbiology highlighted the link between yeast infections and cancer. Specifically, the study highlighted four major ways in which yeast (Candida albicans) may be contributing to cancer occurrence and growth.

First off, Candida albicans emits carcinogenic byproducts, such as acetaldehyde and nitrosamines. Second, the existence of yeast in the body can also lead to inflammation, which if prolonged, can lead to cancerous tumor formation. In addition, our bodies emit a product referred to as Th17 in response to yeast in the body; this Th17 may also contribute to the growth of tumors. And lastly, molecular mimicry can occur within our bodies when yeast is present. This molecular mimicry may result in the formation of antibodies that attack our immune system cells, leaving our bodies unable to prevent and fight cancer.

However, it appears there may be some silver lining to this cloud of bad news. A study found in the European Journal of Pharmacology shows support for the positive effects of turmeric in the body. Specifically, turmeric is believed to kill not only yeast, but cancer as well. The active ingredient in turmeric that gets most of the credit is called curcumin. Curcumin is known to have strong anti-fungal properties, which makes it extremely effective in fighting yeast infections in the body.

Perhaps even more exciting, curcumin is able to target many facets of cancer and tumor growth, whereas conventional therapy tends to focus on one aspect at a time. Specifically, turmeric (thanks to curcumin) is able to target and destroy stem cell subpopulations of cancer. This is turn inhibits the ability of the cancerous tumor to grow and spread throughout the body.

Because yeast has now been linked to cancer, it is especially important to keep yeast levels within the body in check. If you think you have a yeast infection, take the necessary steps to get it under control. Also, try to keep the pH level of your body balanced so that yeast is not able to thrive. Perhaps the easiest way to reduce your chances of yeast taking over your body (and possibly causing cancer) is to drastically reduce the amount of sugar in your diet. Yeast feeds off sugar, which then increases your chances of becoming a cancer patient.

To further protect your body from cancer and cell mutations, incorporate organic turmeric that contains curcumin into your diet on a regular basis. It can easily be incorporated into many ways such as tea, capsule, and makes for great seasoning in many dishes.
