Use Baking Soda and Hydrogen Peroxide

You’ve probably heard about the benefits of using baking soda a dozen times. Baking soda is a mild abrasive that helps to remove the stains from your teeth. However, you need to be careful while using baking soda because it can scrub the enamel off your teeth. While making a baking soda paste, make sure the paste is smooth. Brush your teeth the normal way and then apply and rub the paste onto your teeth for about 30 seconds. Rinse well with plenty of water. For even better results, mix baking soda with Hydrogen Peroxide.

Dentists are increasingly using Hydrogen Peroxide which is an antibacterial agent that keeps the germs at bay and your gums healthy. Additionally, it’s a natural bleaching agent that whitens your teeth and keeps your breath fresh when used as a mouthwash. You can make a mouth rinse by mixing equal ratios of water and Hydrogen Peroxide. Swish it around your mouth and rinse thoroughly. You can also make a paste by mixing small amounts of baking soda and Hydrogen Peroxide.

Use Apple Cider Vinegar

This natural antibiotic and gum cleanser is known to remove stubborn stains, especially coffee and nicotine stains. The compounds in apple cider vinegar which include magnesium, potassium, and acetic acid helps to kill the bad bacteria and promote the growth of ‘good’ bacteria. Its acidic nature helps to remove stains and other substances from your teeth. However, avoid the daily usage of apple cider vinegar because the acid can erode your enamel. If you use it to brush your teeth, rinse your mouth thoroughly. If you prefer a mouthwash, dilute the apple cider vinegar with water and swish it in your mouth for a few minutes. Rinse well with plenty of water.

Eating Strawberries

This method is becoming popular among celebrities. But, how effective is strawberry in teeth whitening? It is said to contain malic acid and ascorbic acid which are responsible for removing the stains and lightening teeth. You can simply mash a few strawberries and apply them to your teeth or you could just chew them after a meal. Alternatively, you can mix a few mashed strawberries and mix with baking soda. Using your finger or toothbrush, apply the mixture on your teeth and leave it on for several minutes. Rinse off well and brush again with your normal toothpaste. Like with any other acidic substance, limit their usage to once per week.
