Colon Cleanse Recipe (the right one)

Many of the foods we consume today are not the best for our bodies and they tend to lead to a buildup of toxins in the colon, as well as the digestive tract.   • 1 teaspoon of bentonite clay powder OR 1 tablespoon of liquid bentonite clay
  • 1 rounded tsp. psyllium husk (make sure you get high quality, ideally organic, psyllium)
  • 8 ounces of water or juice

The Process

Combine the psyllium husk and bentonite into a glass, and then pour the water over the ingredients. Stir together vigorously. Then drink the mixture right away, before the mixture thickens. Follow with plenty of water and/or juice (at least another 8 ounces). Both ingredients are most effective when taken with PLENTY of water.

For a complete cleanse, you’ll eventually drink 2-3 glasses per day. For the first day, however, start with just the one glass to allow your system to get used to the ingredients. After the first day, you can take the cleanse between meals and at least 2 hours before/after taking any supplements or medications.

Because this cleanse is so effective in cleaning out your system, it should not be followed for more than two weeks at a time. Once you stop the cleanse, be sure to pay close attention to what you put into your body, and be sure to include plenty of fiber and water.


You can use this cleanse any time you feel like your body is acting sluggish, or if you know you’ve been bombarding your body with junk food lately. While not mandatory, this colon cleanse is very effective when paired with a fast. If you are doing a juice cleanse/fast, only utilize the colon cleanse before or after your cleanse.

If your fast does include some bulk and fiber sources, then it will be safe to include this colon cleanse in your fast. For best results, start the colon cleanse a couple of days before your fast, and continue it for a couple of days after you complete your fast.

    I have used psyllium husk with breakfast cereal for many years now, due to an operation that went slightly wrong and left me constipated most days, and yes it does clean you system out and keeps you feeling refreshed and not laden down. Some times I have it with 5 sliced prunes which will have things moving along also.
