7 Best Natural Ways to Tighten Loose Skin

When we age, the collagen and elastin structure of the skin loses its elasticity, and the skin then loses some of its self-moisturizing components which makes it appear saggy and loose. Age also makes the muscles in the face weak, also contributing to sagging skin. Excessive exposure to the sun’s harmful rays, smoking, alcoholic beverages, pregnancy, a poor diet, rapid weight loss, dehydration, and harsh chemicals can all cause the skin to lose its elasticity. This can be characterized by fine lines and wrinkles, especially on the face. The skin can become paler and look translucent, also becoming more sensitive.

Natural Ways to Tighten Loose Skin

Believe it or not, there are some natural home remedies that aid in tightening the sagging skin on the neck, face, arms, breasts, and even the vagina.

1. Egg whites

As a natural astringent, egg whites should be whisked into a foamy texture. Apply to the desired areas and leave on for 20 minutes, rinsing with cool water. One other option is to add one tablespoon of plain yogurt to the egg white and whisk together. Use the same method for applying, timing, and rinsing. Both can be used twice a week.

2. Lemon

Juice a few lemons and rub the fresh juice on the face and neck. Leave for 5-10 minutes and then rinse with water. The juice can also be added to a cup of cold water and splashed onto your face.

3. Aloe Vera

Best when used directly from the plant, extract the gel and rub it on the face and neck. Leave on for 15-20 minutes, then wash off with lukewarm water. 1 tablespoon aloe can also be mixed with 1 teaspoon each mayonnaise and honey. Apply and let sit for 15 minutes, then rinse with warm water.

4. Cucumber

A cucumber can be ground up and run through a strainer to extract the juices. Apply this to the face and leave on until dry. Rinse with cool water. This can also be mixed with plain yogurt and applied like a mask, leaving for 10-15 minutes.

5. Oil massage

A 10-minute face massage of warm extra virgin olive oil will moisturize the skin and the antioxidants will apply their anti-aging benefits.

6. Honey

2 or 3 tablespoons of honey can be mixed with a few drops of lemon juice and olive oil. Apply this to the face and neck, letting it dry then rinsing off with warm water. Doing this twice daily yields the best results. One half tablespoon each of honey and sour cream can be mixed with one half teaspoon turmeric powder. Apply and leave on for 15 minutes, rinse with lukewarm water.

7. Rose Water

This natural astringent should be applied to the face and neck prior to going to bed. This tightens pores and prevents premature aging signs. Another option would be to mix one teaspoon of lemon juice, witch hazel, and five drops of almond oil into one cup of rose water.  Apply to the face and leave on for 20 minutes, then rinse off.
