Heal Your Body Naturally With Herbal Supplements

You don’t need to douse your body with dangerous and addictive pharmaceuticals. Prescription drugs and over-the-counter medications are expensive and full of chemicals, with horrible side effects. Nature has provided everything we need to survive and thrive to live a healthy life. We all suffer through different ailments in life, like headaches, stomach pains, joint pain, etc.

Herbal Supplements

The following herbal supplements are especially perfect if you suffer from any of these common problems:

  • Psoriasis or eczema
  • Acne
  • Joint pain or swelling, arthritis
  • Cancer
  • Diabetes or high blood sugar
  • Digestive discomfort
  • Cold and flu, lower immunity
  • And more

Gotu Kola

Gotu Kola is a beautiful, edible green plant with healing powers for your outsides as well as your insides. It is native to India in wet areas with abundant water supply and swamp or marshy areas. You can eat it as a normal vegetable like spinach to treat your body, skin, and hair. It is a natural antibacterial and antifungal to aid in the treatment of colds and flus, including the H1N1 Swine Flu virus, urinary tract infections, cholera, shingles, and a variety of infections.

Energy drinks are especially unhealthy and are linked to many conditions that can affect the heart and nervous system. For a better dose of energy that is safer to consume, Gotu Kola eases fatigue to provide natural energy without endless cups of coffee and caffeine.

I personally have suffered heart palpitations from too many prescription medications, working an 8 hours full time job and trying to keep up with my life. I wish I had known about Gotu Kola back then! It also helps with memory; a little thing we all need in life whether we are working professionals or cramming students.

I make a tea from the leaves every night and find that my sleep is deep and undisturbed as a result. Gotu Kola has many health benefits and is highly prized by Ayurveda for its effects on memory and cognitive functioning. Its anti-inflammatory properties also aid in the treatment of chronic skin conditions, arthritis, anxiety and nervous disorders, wound healing, and many others. As with any supplement taken on a regular basis, it is important that the herb is grown organically, without pesticides and chemical fertilizers, as those will dilute the nutritional value as well as introduce toxins into your body. — Laura

If you have poor circulation or cellulite, this plant aids in blood flow to correct these problems. Cellulite improves with circulation of blood and fat in the body to reduce the appearance of ugly dimpled skin. Loss of blood circulation in the scalp contributes to hair loss, so if your hair is starting to thin or fall out, try adding this herbal supplement to your diet to regenerate hair growth.

Gotu Kola also helps with all of the previously listed ailments above.

Burdock

Burdock is a gorgeous purple plant with green leaves found in Asia and used for many years as a remedy for colds and diseases, as well as skin conditions like acne, psoriasis, and eczemas. You can eat the roots, seeds, or leaves of the plant; or purchase in different forms from a health food store for capsules or oils.

I boiled one tablespoon in one and a half quarts of water for minimum of 20 minutes or more. Do not throw it away. I strain the burdock and add it to my soups. It is considered a medicinal food in Chinese medicine, a blood purifier. —Karen

Almost everyone has had acne or rashes at some point, and my nephew suffers horribly from psoriasis and scalp psoriasis. Dandruff is another common problem for people in dry climates and harsh winters. Burdock helps condition the scalp to combat these problems to restore your scalp to relieve itching and redness. Treating the hair and scalp is one of the most widely sought uses for Burdock; in addition to the above mentioned common ailments.

Moringa and Spirulina

Moringa is one of my favorite under-appreciated superfoods for its huge nutritional value, and spirulina is a plant I just recently discovered to add to my everyday diet to get all of the vitamins and amino acids my body deserves.

Chlorella

Chlorella has many healing properties for the list above, but Chlorella is also excellent for heavy metal detoxing and radiation detox to rid dangerous toxins from our bodies like lead and mercury. It is a true super food from Taiwan and Japan to provide an abundance of vitamins and nutrients to the body to aid digestion, lower blood sugar, treat diabetes, and detoxify the body. You can take the tablets or mix the powder in smoothies.

The Recommended Brand of Chlorella

Unlike many food supplements, chlorella has one unique feature that makes the manufacturing process one of the primary concerns when considering a source of supplementation. Chlorella is completely indigestible by humans. We simply do not have the enzymes to break down its cell wall.

Unlike other green foods, chewing and digesting chlorella will not release the powerful health benefits contained within this green algae. This is because chlorella’s tough outer cell wall, which is also chemically responsible for binding with the toxins inside your body, cannot be broken down by your biology.

Therefore, it is imperative that the manufacturing process break down the tough outer cell wall for you, as this is the only way to make the chlorella biologically available to remove toxins from your body.

This is why I only recommend supplementing with Broken Cell Wall chlorella, because this is the only form that allows your body to use this powerful detoxification agent. Another concern when choosing your chlorella is to be sure that the source waters where it is grown and harvested are free of any contamination. Since chlorella is a natural green food, it will be affected by polluted water and will retain environmental toxins if it’s grown in contaminated waters. So be certain any chlorella you supplement with comes from a naturally clean water source. (By Dr. Mercola)

Chlorella is extremely nutrient dense, more so than kale and spinach, and can be eaten as a vegetable for optimum health. It is known to many as one of the top 10 most nutritious plants from around the world like spirulina and moringa.
