Detox baths are a great way to care for your skin, as well as remove dangerous toxins from your body. They are ideal for right before bed, likely to make you comfy and sleepy.

Use these natural bath detox recipes to warm up, heal your skin issues and improve your health in a relaxing way.

1. Oxygen Detox

The oxygen bath takes two simple ingredients: Hydrogen Peroxide and Ginger Powder (dried). Fill your bathtub, and mix in 2 cups, though you can do more, of hydrogen peroxide and a tablespoon of the ginger. Relax in the mixture for half an hour, or longer.

The oxygen bath is great for congestion, body aches, allergies and skin irritation. Perhaps one of the most simple, yet effective, detox baths you could do.

2. Clay Detox

Prepare for the clay detox by making sure you have all the necessary ingredients:

The first part is simple. All you need to do is dissolve half a cup of epsom salt into a hot bath, along with the essential oils if you are using them. Choose one of these two methods for the clay part of the detox.

Mix the clay with a small amount of water within a glass jar until almost dissolved completely. Add to the bath and relax for 20 minutes.

The other way you can do the clay is to mix it into a paste and rub it onto your entire body. Let it dry for 5 minutes before getting into the water. Soak for 20 minutes, or longer if you want to. Scrub the leftover clay off while you soak to remove toxins like heavy metals.

3. Salt Detox

For the salt detox bath, you’ll need:

Dissolve ¼ cup of sea salt, ¼ cup of epsom salts and ¼ cup of baking soda into a quart sized container of boiling hot water. Set this aside while it dissolves, and fill the bath. Add the apple cider vinegar to the water before pouring in the salt and water mixture. Add your essential oils, 10 drops should do it. Soak as long as you want, but for at least half an hour. The salt detox is ideal for skin irritation, magnesium and detoxing your skin of toxins and chemicals.

Recommendations

When you take a detox bath, there are a few things to make note of. If you want a more powerful detox, simply make the water warmer, or double/triple the amounts. You can use any of these ingredients alone to cleanse your body of toxins, however combined or in a detox bath, the effects are much stronger.

By adding bentonite clay to any of the above natural bath detoxes, you can negate the chlorine or fluoride that may be in your water by absorbing the chemicals. When you first begin taking detox baths, start slowly to get your body used to it.
