With cancer comes chemotherapy, it seems that everyone knows that. However, it may be time that we all begin reconsidering the truth of this preconception. An increasing amount of evidence is beginning to suggest that chemotherapy and radiation may actually cause and exacerbate cancer, rather than eradicate it. Let’s take a closer look at the serious risks and benefits of chemotherapy to allow everyone the opportunity to make an informed decision.
As of 2004, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, along with the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, issued a warning regarding the use of chemotherapy drugs and the potential risks to one’s health. This warning was intended for healthcare workers that came into close contact with chemotherapy drugs on a regular basis. In addition, studies as far back as the 1970s have linked exposure to chemo drugs to an increased occurrence of certain cancers in doctors and nurses. Not only are nurses and doctors exposed to it during treatments of patients, but the drugs have also been found spilled on floors, countertops, keyboards, and more.
What makes chemotherapy so risky is that it has the ability to alter DNA. This is also what makes cancer so difficult to fight, which then makes it seem odd that chemotherapy would be the treatment of choice. In fact, it is not uncommon for a patient who uses chemotherapy to then fall victim to another, different type of cancer after the first cancer has been “cured”. Not only does chemo mess with our cells’ DNA, but it also destroys red blood cells and impacts the immune system and vital organs. This is because chemotherapy is literally poison, being a derivative of mustard gas originally used in the First World War.
Many professionals are recognizing the harmful effects of chemotherapy and are now opting to treat patients by alternative means. Dr. Glenn Warner was one of the most successful cancer specialists in the U.S. who practiced alternative treatments with his patients. A French cancer specialist, Dr. Charles Mathe, insists that he would never, ever undergo chemotherapy if diagnosed with cancer. Former president of the American Chemical Society Dr. Alan C. Nixon supports the claim that chemotherapy is harmful and finds it incredulous that healthcare professionals continue to insist on its use.
So now the pros for chemotherapy: Well, it doesn’t seem that there are many. Sure, it may seem to kill cancer for many people, but how many of these patients then fall victim to another, more vicious strand of cancer? Not to mention, while undergoing chemotherapy one loses all desire to live, loses his/her hair, has no appetite, is incredibly weak, and more. It is extremely important if one is diagnosed with cancer to understand what the treatment options actually are.
Regardless of what your oncologist may say, chemo and radiation are not the only available options. If you decide you don’t want to take the risk of chemo, seek out an alternative treatment specialist and explore the many options to treat cancer without poisoning your body.
